Freedive Taster Course

If you've been thinking about giving freediving a go, but are unsure whether its for you, or simply lacking the confidence to start, we have designed this 1 day intro course for you. This one day course is designed to give you a taste of the feeling of freediving, in a supportive, fun and save learning environment.

Our Taster courses are run in the calm, beautiful waters of a protected bay within Nelson Bay, which makes it the perfect spot to see if freediving is for you. 

Course Location: Nelson Bay
(1 hour from Newcastle and 2.5 hours from Sydney)
Start Time: 7:30am 
Finish Time: 1:30pm

What's Included:
ALL freediving gear, EXCEPT a wetsuit. Wetsuits are available to hire for a fee of $40

• 2 hours of freediving theory covering safety, physics and physiology
• How to equalise your ears so you can dive without any discomfort!
• Relaxation and breathwork
• Breath hold session
• 2 hour dive session in protected bay, to practice all that you have learnt and get the feeling of freediving

The maximum depth for this day is 9 metres, but your comfort is our priority, and you definitely don't have to dive this deep if you don't want to.

Our dive site is located in a sheltered cove which is also a protected marine reserve. There are hundreds of fish to see and the occasional Turtle and Wobbegong if we're lucky!

If you love the feeling of freediving and continue on to do a certified course or trip with us, we'll take $100 off any of our future courses or trips.

Required Gear
ALL gear is included in the cost, EXCEPT a wetsuit

• Warm wetsuit (3mm long arm, long leg steamer at minimum)
• Mask & snorkel
• Weight belt and weights
• Fins
